The exchange student spotlight is Alejandro. He is a foreign student from Mexico and plays on the football team.
Hola me llamo Alejandro Moran.
Q: What is your hometown?
A: I am from Monclova. Mexico.
Q: How old are you? What grade are you in?
A: I am sixteen and a junior.
Q: Do you play any sports?
A: Here at Wyoming Valley West, I play on the football team.
Q: How did you get involved in the exchange student program?
A: A few years ago my older brother participated in the program and went to Maine. He told me I should do it too, so here I am.
Q: What is the biggest difference between America and Mexico?
A: The biggest difference is the weather. In Mexico it is so hot and it is so nice here. Also I like the sports in the USA.
Q: What is your favorite American food?
A: I think the food in Mexico is better, but if I had to pick it would be a “chicken burger” (aka a chicken patty).
Q: What is your favorite thing about America?
A: I love the weather here and can’t wait until winter for it to snow.
Q: What are some of your hobbies?
A: I really like playing American football.
Q: What is your favorite part of America so far?
A: The Valley West stadium is actually pretty cool because of the big lights. I like getting to see all of the crowd and getting play there on Friday nights.
