Hallo, mein name ist Ariane.

This exchange student spotlight is on Ariane Rupnik. Ariane is a foreign student from Germany and is currently a member of our varsity field hockey team and the class of 2021.

Q: Where is your hometown?
A: I am from Hamburg, Germany

Q: How old are you and what grade are you in?

A: I am sixteen and a junior.

Q: Do you play any sports?
A: I play field hockey.

Q: How did you get involved in the exchange program?
A: I just wanted to spend a year abroad with a host family so I just searched for organizations that offer that.

Q: What is the biggest difference between America and Germany?
A: The food, people, distances between one point to another because I’m from a city. Also here the school has more classes and we also get a grade for talking here. Sports aren’t as popular in schools in Germany and if you want to play a sport you play through a club instead.

Q: What’s your favorite American food?
A: My favorite foods so far here are pizza, Skittles and Reeses.

Q: What do you like most about high school?

A: My favorite part of the school is the funny teachers.

Q: What is your favorite thing about America so far?
A: My favorite thing is probably the people here.

Q: What are some of your hobbies?
A: I like playing field hockey, the piano, traveling to new places, and making new friends.
