Man or Gun?

Simon Frey

There are many dangers in our society today, especially when it comes to our safety. Of course we, as a whole cannot change what others think and do, but we can help prevent awful things happening, such as the shootings which recently took place in Texas. Of course, there are ways to prevent this from happening, but whether it happens is another story.

Gun safety needs to be addressed, by our many lawmakers. Unfortunately, it takes a lot of people to make this happen. The safety messages still need to be addressed for the most part. The government, as a whole has the opportunity to make it happen, however, they just need the push to start.

However, there is the question of whether the problem is man or gun. Is it wrong to take away someone’s ability to buy a gun? That is the heavily debated question of the story. Another issue is that people can get these weapons too easily. Most violent offenders can get them from their parents or, if they are legal, from the actual store.

Only military or police should carry a weapon around and all assault rifles should be eliminated. Unfortunately, not everyone thinks the same.

Unfortunately, there are many factors in someone carrying a gun. However, many people don’t see that it involves all factors. Because we have assault rifles, more people shall opt to use assault rifles. However, it is said to be a human right to carry such a gun, but more violence is happening with them. So, as Americans, I employ you to answer the question, would you rather man or gun?
